Abstract
|

|
The main purpose of this study is to analyse the components of quality of life of the elderly and to examine their influence on the global quality of life. For this study, the KoWePs(Korea Welfare Panel Study) data were used. This data includes the many socio-demographic data, 7 types sub-satisfaction data and global satisfaction data, with which a wide range of statistical descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, ordered-probit analysis, multiple regression were operated. Sub-satisfaction measures - Health, Family¡¯s income, Housing environment, Family-relations, Job, Social friendship, Leisure - were intimately associated with to global satisfaction. Above all, satisfaction of leisure, job and social friendship are the main factors, with which the elderly can more improve the global life satisfaction than others. In conclusion, we need the demand-oriented social policy that reflects socio-economic development. Especially in order to improve the elderly¡¯s quality of life, they could enjoy the leisure, participate in economic activity and maintain good social relationships, which are suitable for their health and economic situation. Such a demand-oriented social policy contribute to expand related human and material infrastructure and the elderly-friendly industries as well.
